What is the ISO 9001 Standard?
ISO 9001 is the standard for a quality management system ("QMS") at an international platform. For the certification to the ISO 9001 standard , a company must follow the ISO 9001 Standard. The standard is used by companies to show their ability and to provide products and services that meet customer needs and requirements, and to show continuous improvement. There are various documents in the ISO 9000 family of standards, but ISO 9001 is the only standard in the 9000 series containing certification. Typically, a whole company will want to get a certificate, but the importance of QMS can be to improve performance at a particular facility or department.
